I've been to France before. I really loved the way Paris made me feel. It wasn’t until I arrived in Nice, that I noticed there were more feels to experience.
My hotel was a tiny little room sitting between the beach and Old Nice. I had relaxation in the front and party in the back. Every night we had our pick of places to eat and have gelato. The shops behind our hotel looked like old world shopping and dining. You could really walk for miles window shopping and eating. This place really lit up at night. The French eat at late hours, so watching people sit, converse, and share meals was truly amazing. So, I joined in. No matter what time we went out, the air was buzzing with great energy.
We only had a couple of days in Nice before heading to St. Tropez. We rented a car and took the 2 hour, scenic drive. I love road trips, so the drive over was right up my vacation alley.
First stop in St.Tropez was Hermes. I went in and bought a pair of Oran sandals. Then off to check in to our hotel. La Bastide de St. Tropez was a cute, traditional hotel. My husband expected more after looking at the nightly rate, but I thought it was quaint and perfectly French.
The next day we took a private car over to a port in Village of Lavandou. There, we met new friends who own a winery called Domaine de la Sanglier. We were picked up in a vintage Range Rover, and taken to a boat. We drank rosè and sailEd off to a private island called Port Cros. No vehicles are allowed, walking only. You can’t even ride a bicycle.
We had lunch at Anse de Port-Cros, an outdoor restaurant. We ate Carpaccio Dorado white fish marinated, and Seiche brown gravy. Google it.
After lunch, it was back on the boat and swimming in crystal clear blue water and sipping rosé.
We celebrated on our last night at L’Opera! See my story on Instagram for those details!
This vacation was the perfect end to my summer before attending Barbie Convention and heading back to work.
Thank you summer! You’ve been good to me and I’ll miss you!
